This site is a guide with the most up-to-date information on the Glen Cove Ferry Terminal and Boat Basin. After twenty years in the making, the Glen Cove Ferry Terminal is a vital part of Glen Cove’s Waterfront Redevelopment Vision. The Ferry Terminal will lie on part of 50 acres of land along the waterfront that were among the most highly contaminated industrial areas in the State of New York.
With the help of federal, state and county agencies, our incredibly supportive elected officials, and our partners in redevelopment, the City of Glen Cove has been able to completely remediate this portion of Glen Cove Creek, and it is now ready to support new residential and commercial use.
On June 1, 2010 the City of Glen Cove broke ground on the first phase of the ferry terminal project, which will serve Glen Cove and North Shore residents for commuting and recreational uses. This is a monumental step in our work to reclaim Glen Cove Creek and return it to the public for their enjoyment and benefit.
